- Perhaps this is a little off subject, but I am curious. Can the Antic
- StereoTek 3D glasses work with the Falcon and if so, are the concepts of 3D
- games and web sites hard concepts to be realized? We need ICD to take over
- ST hardware useable to Falcon systems. Perhaps ICD could take over the
- AB040 as well.
- Is StereoTek glasses technology related or the same to Sony IMAX
- technology? If so, and the Stereotek glasses were to work with the Falcon,
- new possibilities would be available for Falcon users that ST users back in
- the Antic days would have only dreamed about:
-
- 1. 3D Websites. Being that the internet is a non system specific
- information system for any information relative to man. Falcon
- specific sites can spring up and utilize some of the advances made
- via the many years of Atari computing. The 2600 had wireless
- joysticks available for them (still useable as joysticks on ANY
- Atari computers).
-
- 2. Imax movies utilizing DVD disc technology and StereoTek glasses. An
- infra-red tranceiver would have to be created for the Falcon (perhaps
- via the JagPorts) Walkman-like devices would contain DA converters
- for 4 channel audio playback,. glasses would plug into this device to
- channel audio data to tiny 4 tiny speakers on each side of the
- glasses. Glasses would only work when the transceiver is infront of
- the lenses. I believe I-Glasses, StereoTek Glasses, and Sony Imax
- Headsets are all utilizing the same technology. StereoTek Glasses
- were the cheapest. It shouldn't be too hard to modify the stereotek
- glasses so that they can have an infra-red receiver built-in to them
- to receiver "lens-on" and audio information from the Falcon. The
- lenses can alternate on and off at a rate indicated by the program
- running. When the lenses aren't facing the transceiver, the rate
- becomes zero. The program sends data to tell the glasses how
- fast the lenses should alternate their state.
-
- 3. 3D games: Games like Bad Mood can be made to utilize 3d
- imagerary to enhance the gaming experience.
